Rob joined Greater Manchester Police in January 2001, where he worked in Stretford ( home of Manchester United ) and Salford. He transferred to Suffolk Police in September 2006, where he worked in Newmarket and now in Bury St Edmunds. Before joining the police he was an armourer in the RAF for 10 years. He has also been a HGV driver for Walkers Crisps and Eddie Stobarts.

Rob first rode with Bobby on a Bike in the May Ride in 2010 and has been hooked ever since. He is now taking part in the longest non stop kayak race in the world with Neil, founder of Bobby on a Bike, in April 2012, before he completes the One Hit Ride in May with Neil and Cribby.

He has been married to Paula since 1987 and has two grown up daughters, Kim and Linzi. Samson, a 5 year old German Shepherd is the baby of the family!

Apart from cycling and spending time with his family Rob loves Formula 1 and Rugby League.
