Time; Easter Weekend 2012 Place; Devizes, Wiltshire The event; The longest non stop canoe race in the world... Easter weekend, 2012, will see Neil Smith and Rob Bryan take on the Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race. 125 miles, 77 portages, one race - non stop. Neil and Rob spent easter weekend 2011 supporting Jeff Cribb and Martin Howard as they took on their 'DW'. Whilst watching the excitement at the start in Deizes, they shook hands and declared..."next year it's our turn" In July 2011, they sat in a marathon kayak for the first time ever! In fact it was Neil's first time in a canoe or kayak fullstop! It was also many years since Rob had canoed before... Bloody minded determination and help from those in the know... finally they were able to paddle and stay up right! Training has continued...heading from Summer into Winter, in wind, rain, gales, snow and frozen rivers and portages.
