May 2011 - UK Coast to Coast, in aid of... The 'May ride' has evolved from Coos Bay to UK in 2006 to an annual event. 2011 will be the 4th 'May ride' and will be the hardest and most challenging to date. Nearly 400 miles in 4 days, from the coast of the relatively flat county of Suffolk, to the undulating Cotswolds and Wye Valley, then through the hills and mountains of mid Wales, heading to the coast at Borth, near Aberystwyth. Why Cancer Research UK? Tony Spry, one of the original team members was diagnosed, this year, with oesophageal cancer. He has been receiving chemotherapy throughout June / July. He remains extremely positive and hopes to be fighting fit to help with support on 2011. It was an easy choice to make a cancer charity our next beneficiary. Our route will start and finish at RNLI stations, Bobby on a Bike will also be making a donation to the RNLI Our Route... Day 1, May 22nd - Aldeburgh RNLI to Comberton, nr Cambridge - 95 miles Day 2, May 23rd - Comberton to Stratford Upon Avon - 105 miles Day 3, May 24th - Stratford Upon Avon to Three Cocks, Wales - 89 miles Day 4, May 25th - Three Cocks to Borth RNLI - 89 miles (see below for embedded Garmin route details) Special Thanks to Marquis MotorHomes for suppliying us with a Majestic 180 motorhome for us as support vehicle.
